As we move forward with scientific breakthroughs and advancements in technology we grow in ways we never expected. These constant revelations have given us new methods of improving our lives. Stem Cell Therapy is one of the most promising breakthroughs in Science Today. We now have the ability to manage our health and well being and live a more fulfilling life with our loved ones. However, I’m sure you’ll have questions along the way. This section is devoted to calm those concerns.

Can I use my Health Savings Account For Stem Cell Therapy?

With recent increases in deductibles, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are becoming more common. Most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) can be used for medical tests and procedures using Stem Cells. HSAs typically cover Stem Cell Therapy, but contact your HSA account representative to get up to date information about your HSA. Stem Cell Therapy is a great opportunity for treating damaged and degenerative conditions of the hip, ankle, knee, wrist, elbow or shoulder joints.

What is Stem Cell Therapy?

Stem Cell Therapy is the use of Stem Cells injected into painful joints and tendons. It’s a non-invasive (non-surgical) treatment option to provide long-lasting pain relief. Stem Cells enable the body to heal degenerative conditions. “Regenerative Therapy” or Stem Cell Therapy is an excellent alternative to surgery for anyone experiencing joint pain, particularly pain in the larger weight bearing joints. Stem Cells contain NO steroids and there is little threat of patient rejection. Amniotic stem cells contain growth factors, hyaluronic acid, naturally occurring anti-inflammatories, and a high concentration of stem cells. Well over 10,000 injections have been performed without a single reported adverse side effect. Only after an examination by our medical staff is performed will it be determined if you qualify for stem cell therapy.

Stem Cell Therapy is referred as “regenerative” because it uses the types of cells that are already found in the body. Your body keeps producing these cells in a process of regeneration. However, when you have sport injuries, accidents, or you over use your joints there’s a process of “degeneration” which may exceed the natural Regenerative process. This results in weaker joints, less functionality and ultimately joint pain. Stem Cells are specifically injected to the affected area and the process of healing starts. Currently, stem cell injections are being used at Stem Cell Professionals for following ailments:

  • Shoulder Pain
  • Wrist Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Elbow Pain
  • Ankle Pain
  • Hip Pain

Are you a good candidate for Stem Cell Therapy?

If you are suffering from joint pain or osteoarthritis, specifically mild to moderate degenerative joint pain, you may be a good candidate for Stem Cell Therapy.  Chronic conditions causing pain in the joints and tendons typically respond well to stem cell therapy. An examination is required to determine if you qualify for stem cell therapy. The non-surgical Stem Cell injections take place within a day and the process may be a fantastic alternative to surgery or even joint replacement.

If you are the type of person who doesn’t want to go through extremely painful and lengthy surgery with associated long recovery periods you may be a candidate for Stem Cell Therapy. It is not recommended for severe joint degeneration or complete tears of ligaments or tendons. Stem Cell therapy is NOT a Magic cure or fix all treatment. Please call us to see if you are a good candidate. If you suffer from any of the following conditions you may be a candidate for Stem Cell Therapy.

  • Osteoarthritis (mild to moderate)
  • Elbow Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Ankle Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Wrist Pain
  • Hip Pain

How to prepare for Stem Cell Therapy?

Preparing for your procedure is VERY important! But the first step to prepare for Stem Cell Therapy is to schedule a FREE consultation with the Stem Cell Professionals to see if you qualify. You can make an appointment by clicking here. After your consultation you may be required to stop some medications prior to your treatment, particularly anti-inflammatories.

Although the procedure is very non-invasive, we ask for you to make arrangements to have someone drive you home the day of your treatment. You will be asked to drink plenty of water leading up to the treatment and avoid any herbal supplements for 48 hours prior to the procedure.

What’s to be expected during the procedure?

The entire Stem Cell Therapy process is done in our office and is quite simple. It is performed with the use of ultrasound guidance to precisely inject the stem cells in an exact location within the joint capsule. The area is disinfected and the stem cells are inserted with a special needle. A topical numbing agent is used to numb the area to support continued comfort during the injection. However, the injection is quick and relatively painless. You can expect to be in and out of the our facility within an hour!

Strict specific instructions will be discussed and given after the procedure is performed as to optimize your best results. Any deviation for the instructions may greatly diminish your results.

What is to be expected After the Treatment?

When can you get back to your life after treatment?

One of the most important parts of Stem Cell Therapy is to follow the post-treatment guidelines. If you want to see the best results with the longest lasting benefit you will need to follow these recommendations:

  • Rest as much as possible for the first 48 hours. You may work, but limit activity of affected area.
  • You may experience increased pain for up to a week due to ceasing medications and the procedure itself.
  • Do not take any anti-inflammatories for 48 hours after the procedure, but herbal supplements will be supplied to aid in proper joint nourishment after your treatment.
  • You will want to be restricted to basic use of the joint for the first week.
  • Range of Motion stretches will be given to be performed daily (24 hours after procedure).
  • After 1 week you may start walking (up to one mile) but NO jogging for 4 weeks.
  • After 4 weeks you may resume light weightlifting at your local gym and light jogging (up to 1 mile).
  • After 6 weeks, resume previous activities.
  • Pay attention to your joints as you resume a normal lifestyle.

Is the injection process safe?

Our medical staff at Stem Cell Professionals are educated, trained, and licensed in the United States. We use high resolution ultrasound image guidance for every injection to be sure to accurately inject Stem Cells into the ideal location for the best results. It takes the guess work out of our injections. Also, no radiation is used for our injection procedures, as radiation has a much adverse effect on immature cells (stem cells).
